Hi there amazing human!
Greetings from the city of opportunities, traffic jams, and hustlers.Â
It is said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step; you made a bold step and a great choice signing up for this year's PAADC newsletter. In light of this, we have come bearing gifts! Brace yourself as we take you through what’s been happening at our station.
Updates From The Nexus
If you are yet to catch on, we are here with information and updates regarding PAADC 6.0 thus far. As mentioned in our last newsletter, we had our first edition of the PAADC Nexus titled "Innovation beyond Imagination" which saw Mr. Richard Okunola, our guest speaker, exploring the waters of the varsity innovation scene and spotlighting hints for potential PAADC 6.0 applicants.Â
In case you missed it, we're here to let you in on a little secret: Another edition of the PAADC Nexus holds soon. As such, it would be in our best interest to just state that it's holding on the first Saturday of next month. More details will be pushed across to them in due course.
WCID Roundup
World Creativity and Innovation Day (WCID) was observed on the 21st of April. World Creativity and Innovation Day is observed every year on April 21 to emphasize the role of creativity and innovation in different aspects of human development.Â
At PAADC, we celebrate, promote, incubate and support ingenious solutions from students in the Nigerian varsity scene. As such, we celebrated this day by reaffirming that PAADC will continue to support and showcase the talented and amazing innovators in the Nigerian varsity scene.
Applications Open Soon!
One of the perks of being subscribed to our newsletter is the fact that you get exclusive PAADC-related information before we announce it to the public. It's on that note, that we are pleased to let you know applications open soon! Isn't that exciting?Â
We have received messages from student innovators and prospective applicants wanting to know when the application window opens and what they need to know before applying. Well, if you fall into this category or have an interest in participating in the competition, stay glued to our social media platforms as we would be sharing these updates in the coming weeks.
STEM Roundup
Twitter was buzzing this week when news broke out that Elon Musk was interested in buying the platform. This was a shocker to all because he recently rejected a seat on the Board of Twitter after becoming the media giant’s largest individual investor. If this deal goes through, it would cost Musk a whopping $46.5 billion. However, there has been no official response to Musk’s offer.Â
On the topic of social media, Whatsapp has also been making moves of its own. The platform is also coming up with a new feature called Communities. This will enable people to bring together separate groups under one umbrella with a structure that works for them. That way people can receive updates sent to the entire Community and easily organize smaller discussion groups on what matters to them. Communities will also contain powerful new tools for admins, including announcement messages that are sent to everyone, and control over which groups can be included.Â
Finally, we asked our community a question during the week. If you missed it, remember that it’s never too late to engage!
