Application Update
The review phase has kicked off, and with the grand finale fast approaching, it is advised that you regularly check your emails for any application updates.
We recently shared an extensive list of institutions we received applications from this year. Missed it? You can check it out here. Which school do you think would produce the winning team for PAADC 6.0? Let us know in the comment section!
Merch Update
We have been receiving an impressive amount of orders since we launched our merch. But as a result of inflation, there has been a slight change in the price of our hoodies and sweatshirts. The new prices can be found on the store's website.
Speaking of hoodies and sweatshirts, due to logistical complications, we will discontinue their sale on September 12th. Consequently, if you have an interest in getting a hoodie or sweatshirt, ensure you place your order before September 12th.
In other merch-related news, delivery and collection of merch have started. If you ordered your merch before August 25th, you can pick up your package from Saturday, September 3rd, at Moremi Garden, Unilag.
Collection period:
• Mondays, 10 am-12 pm
• Tuesdays, 10 am-12 pm
• Saturdays, 4 pm-6 pm
If you opted to have your merch delivered, delivery starts on September 2nd.
Kindly reach out to Shola for any enquiries!
Finally, you must have seen the different pictures from our merch photoshoot; but how did it all come together? Interested in finding out? Take a look at the behind-the-scenes process. Shout out to everyone involved!
Nexus Recap
Talking about how undergraduates can break into the tech scene, we had six remarkable tech talents at the Nexus yesterday.
Alaba (Product Designer, Defijn), shared his story and journey to landing his current job. He also dwelled on the importance of LinkedIn interactions and persistence in learning on his growth and successes in the tech space.
Emmanuel (Backend Engineer, Risevest) highlighted the fact that applying for internships doesn’t always have to be daunting. Sometimes all you need is primary knowledge of your current tech skill. Internships present opportunities to grow and acquire more versatility.
Ife (Software Engineering intern at Microsoft) also shared some useful tips on optimizing your resume in a bid to secure a desirable job in the tech ecosystem.
Olumide (Software Engineering intern at Google) and Oluwajoba (Software Engineering Intern at Goldman Sachs) also shared noteworthy insights that brought more depth to the entire session.
Needless to say, the session was super enlightening and insightful, one that you should listen to if you missed out yesterday.
Road to the Grand Finale
All hands are on deck as we are working tirelessly to bring you the grandest Grand Finale that you have seen since our inception. Trust us, there is a lot in store for you (even if you are only a part of the audience).
Here’s what some of our volunteers had to say about the upcoming event.
“It is safe to say that you should expect a Grand Finale that sticks to our theme for this edition. No doubt, you will get to see innovative ideas from our finalists and experience an all-around interactive event from our panel session to the pitching session and even giveaways.” ~ Adeniyi Adebayo, Head of CBS, PAADC 6.0
“As an attendee, you wouldn't miss out on winning cash and other prizes, participating in the job fair, networking, reuniting with classmates after the protracted ASUU break and witnessing the finalists present their innovative ideas. We are putting so much in place for you, and we look forward to seeing you at the Grand Finale.” ~ Alabi Sheriff, Deputy Chairman, PAADC 6.0

Townhall Meeting
The town hall meeting was one of the highlights of last Saturday. Our entire volunteer network got together to brainstorm and present each team’s respective plans towards making the Grand Finale a success!
From the presentations to the ambience, the food, and the delightful company, it was a moment of clarity as we saw the importance of each team once again.
Conclusion
We have spent yet another week putting pieces in place for the grand finale.
The PAADC Nexus is finally back after the short break, and we had an amazing interactive session with university undergraduates.
Stepping into a new week, we hope that you have a truly splendid and productive one. Till next time!
