Campus Tour
Our quest to expand the PAADC community to other tertiary institutions led us to our first campus tour. The PAADC crew paid a visit to Bells University and Covenant University on Friday 10th June,2022. The team was well received and we are grateful the tour was a success. You can get a glimpse of how it went here.
We are grateful to our hosts and look forward to visiting more institutions. Who knows we could be visiting your school next.😉
Nexus Recap
The June edition of the PAADC Nexus was a great success. Dwelling on the idea of disruptive innovation—the what, why, and how—we had an amazing lineup of 4 guests with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with us. Ms. Anuoluwapo Tenibaje mentioned that disruptive innovation is anything (product, service, software, et al) introduced into the economy that performs better, at a lower cost. On the other hand, Ms. Funmilayo Oyekanmi spotlighted the fact that you must have a unique value proposition for your idea to be considered a disruptive innovation.
“Innovation requires deep thinking”- Ms. Funmilayo Oyekanmi
This edition of the Nexus was also a time to catch up with some of our previous finalists: Mubarak Lawal of Team UNY (PAADC 4.0) and Israel Alabi of Team Farmass (PAADC 3.0). They came armed with insight and advice to share with potential applicants and innovative minds—like you.
“The core of innovation is solving existing problems”- Mubarak Lawal

STEM Updates
When you think of science, technology, and luxury, Apple undoubtedly comes to mind. Who better to be at the forefront of tech updates this week? The company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), was held from June 6th to 10th.
The conference kicked off with the announcement of a slew of new software upgrades and product debuts for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and iWatch, all of which will be available later this year.
Several things stood out to us during the event, and here’s a quick rundown.
iOS 16 has lock screen personalization, as well as the ability to modify, recall, or recover deleted and sent texts on iMessage.
Apple's new Pay Later policy allows users to pay for purchases in 4 installments (over 6 weeks) without added interest or hidden charges.
Apple also revealed that the new MacBooks are equipped with the new M2 CPUs and a new version of the macOS called Ventura.
Typical Apple showing us why we need them.
In other news, the third edition of The GAGE Awards, one of Nigeria's top tech awards, was hosted yesterday at the Eko Hotel & Suites, and impressive achievements were recognized in a variety of categories, including:
Mobile banking app of the year
Fintech company of the year
Edutech app of the year
Most Innovative Tech Company of the year.
You can discover the list of categories, nominees, and winners here. And who knows? Your strides towards innovation can land you on this list in the near future.
Happy Democracy Day!
Today is Democracy day and even as we celebrate and enjoy the commemoratory holiday, we'd like to remind you that PVC registration is still ongoing at INEC offices around the country and will close on June 30th.
Make out time to get your PVC and let's make the best decision we can.
